| To the reader: The materials presented on these web pages were collected primarily during the late 1960s and early 1970s for a Ph. D. Dissertation undertaken at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, under the direction of Professor Colin Eisler. This work remains unfinished. However, the author believes that the work, images and notes gathered for this project and herein presented, nevertheless will prove of some use and interest to students and scholars. They are therefore being made available to those who might find benefit in them, providing, of course, that the author's copyright is respected and that users adhere to traditional academic citation practices. Readers are asked to indulge the author when sections might seem not fully resolved, incomplete or partially articulated. They are being offered "as is." The bibliography is not current. Readers are encouraged to submit bibliographic items of significance. Treat what you find in these pages as "a work in progress." |
