The twenty-nine works selected for this disk have been chosen from a more extensive series in this style. The series dates from early 1998. The use of sumi-e ink in my paintings suggested the use of this media in drawings. These drawings incorporate images of the circus and other subjects taken from childhood memories and also use the experience of living in a semi-rural and suburban area. The black line surrounding each work is an essential part of the whole image and is usually drawn after the drawing, itself, has been completed.

I have included several enlarged details with these drawings to help viewers understand the nature of the brushed line, which is not conveyed by low resolution digital images.
